ReLeaf Hamilton agreed on a Terms of Reference in 2010 outlining its purpose, objectives and guiding principles. TheTerms of Reference also describes the organizational structure and original workplan.

Steering Committee

The Steering Committee:

  • endorses and supports the development of plans for the Natural Heritage System
  • works closely with the O&E Committee and the Scenario Development Team to provide overall guidance and direction

Outreach and Education Sub Committee

Members work in collaboration with the Steering Committee and Scenario Development Team. The Outreach and Education Sub Committee:

  • develops promotional tools for ReLeaf Hamilton
  • develops and implements communications protocols
  • supports ReLeaf Hamilton’s mandate by creating a communications and education strategy

Scenario Development Team

The Scenario Development Team leads the work on Natural Heritage Systems (NHS) planning using a MARXAN modelling system. Their role includes:

  • creating an inventory of existing data sets appropriate for use with the MARXAN modeling tool
  • deciding if/how these data can be used
  • determining objectives and targets for directing the development of scenarios through the use of the MARXAN Model
  • reporting the developments with the MARXAN model to their representative communities so they can comment/advise regarding improvements
